About Panavision:

The Panavision group supports filmmakers working on movies, television series, commercials, and beyond, providing: filmmaking equipment rentals for lenses, cinema cameras, grip, and lighting, stage facilities for filming, post-production services including dailies, visual effects, and final color grading and much more.

Job Scope:

Service and repair of lens equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently service and repairs lenses to Panavision’s high standards.
  • Troubleshoot lens problems as they arise.
  • Supply hand tools necessary to perform jobs.
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area as per health and safety standards.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Proper use of hand tools, shop fixtures, and materials.
  • Set call procedures and etiquette.
  • Understanding of Panavision’s health and safety requirements.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Effective organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with small, delicate parts and precision assemblies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical and operational problems.
  • Ability to interact with clients and co-workers and answer technical questions.
  • Ability to multitask and remain flexible towards changes in scheduled duties on a daily basis.
  • Ability to work on own initiative without constant supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure with strict time constraints, yet maintaining high performance standards and output.

Preferred But Not Required:

  • Working knowledge of specifications and applications of lens inventory housed at Panavision.
  • Basic understanding of optical theory.
  • Lens mechanical operation, service and repair procedures.
  • Trained eye for discerning lens performance on projector and collimator.
  • Manual Lathe and Mill experience preferred

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

This job operates in a warehouse environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and reach with hands and arms. The employee may also be required to lift product or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Prompt and regular attendance is required, employees are expected to begin work at the start of their scheduled shift and to complete their assigned work shift according to the responsibilities of their position.

This position works standard business hours, but may require long hours and some weekend work.

Compensation:

$19.00 to $19.25 per hour
